Privacy Policy

The Ottawa Hospital is responsible for personal information under its custody or control. The Ottawa Hospital is committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality and security of all personal information to which it is entrusted in order to carry out its mission.

The Ottawa Hospital’s Privacy Policy incorporates the provisions of Part 1 of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and includes the ten principles of the Canadian Standards Association’s Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information (CAN/CSA-Q830-96), which was published in March 1996 as a national standard of Canada.

The 10 Guiding Principles (Appendix A of the Policy), which form the basis of The Ottawa Hospital’s Privacy Policy, are interrelated, and The Ottawa Hospital adheres to the ten principles as a whole.
