Goals

A multidisciplinary approach amongst the thoracic surgeons, pulmonary physicians, chest radiologists, pulmonary pathologists, thoracic anaesthesia, specialized thoracic nursing and thoracic oncologists allows for a high standard of patient care and expedient delivery of service.

The multidisciplinary team allows us to provide the best possible care to patients with oncological diseases of the chest, disabling pulmonary emphysema, head and neck cancer and proximal airway diseases, swallowing disorders and myasthenia disorders.

The goals of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at The Ottawa Hospital are:

To promote excellence in patient care in the City of Ottawa and Eastern Ontario
To strengthen the Thoracic Surgery Residency Training Program
To promote a healthy academic environment, clinical trials and research, and basic science research in Thoracic Oncology
