Welcome to Physiotherapy
What is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy
is a health care profession dedicated to enhancing and restoring your
mobility.
A physiotherapist works with you to evaluate and restore your
strength, endurance, movement and physical abilities affected by injury,
disease or disability.
Physiotherapists are qualified to provide assessment, therapeutic, and preventative services aimed at
restoring function and preventing disability arising from trauma, disease or injury.
Our Team
Physiotherapists are graduates of accredited university
physiotherapy programs and are licensed by the Ontario College of Physiotherapists
to practice physiotherapy in Ontario.
Physiotherapist assistants have formal training or extensive on-the-job experience.
Rehabilitation assistants have formal college training as both physiotherapist assistants
and occupational therapy assistants.
Our team includes an advanced practice physiotherapist, physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants and physiotherapist assistants.
The Ottawa Hospital employs approximately 200 full-time, part-time and casual physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants
and physiotherapist assistants.
Physiotherapy may be provided during your stay at The Ottawa Hospital as well as on an outpatient basis.
